🪃” Pride, Passion, Culture - Deadly Oztag” These are the values of Indigenous Oztag!🪃
When selecting our 2024 Australian Invitational Challenge Captain there was one name that came to all the committee's minds.
Someone that encapsulates all the AIO values on and off the field. ⭐Presenting our 2024 Captain, Men's 60s Player and Coach, Proud Palawa man, Greg Holt! ⭐️For the past few years Greg has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to create AIOs first men's 60s team.
He has been encouraging our uncles to play oztag, going to tournaments to watch them and building up the men's 60s division. 🙌🏽We are so excited to say after all his hard work and help, he along with the uncles in his team are making history as the first AIO men's 60s side! His commitment and dedication to this team has been nothing short of amazing and we can’t wait to watch the uncles inspire all our teams at the tournament.👣Greg is no stranger to Coffs and is a regular at state and national tournaments with his Central Coast Teams! 💙
We wanted to make sure all the mob knew how amazing Greg is, so we knew we had to speak to his Oztag organization!
We were lucky enough to have a phone call with Charmaine who said they couldn’t be happier and prouder of Greg and are super honored he will be representing his mob and Central Coast! She also let us know how well-respected Greg is within the oztag community and wider Central Coast community, and how great of a man he is!! 💙
Dale from Central Coast also sent through “Greg has been a member of the Central Coast representative program for over a decade. He is a well-respected member across the Central Coast community playing across the Men's 50s, 55s and 60s divisions. He had success winning several national and state championships too.”
On top of that Greg has represented AIO in 2015 World Cup, 2017 Oceania Cup, 2018 World Cup, 2019 Oceania Cup and 2022 ITF! 🥇We asked the Godfather of Indigenous Oztag Jeff Hardy for a few words about Greg! “Greg is a long time State Cup & Nationals representative player from Central Coast. As a player he is a talent middle, with all the great, great vision, organization along with an excellent passion and kicking game. Greg has been the driving force to get the 60s team up and running and we all honored and proud to see the team come together from the work he has done.”🏉Greg’s leadership and commitment extends off the pitch where's his integrity, kindness, and support for each team member whether it’s his teams or any other shines through!
